Enthusiastic crowd at Narconon Standard event

On July 18, 2015, the Narconon center in the southern outskirts of Moscow celebrated 15 years of saving lives. For the occasion, a large yellow tent was set up, plenty of food was prepared and musicians and artists prepared their contributions for the occasion. Guests that were invited included graduates from the last 15 years, their families, staff from the rehab center, volunteers and supporters from the community. There was even a special song written by performer Al Chagall that expressed what it’s like to know you stand between an addicted person and his potential death due to overdose. sombreroNarconon is a secular drug rehab program, but that does not mean that the program cannot be delivered by a religious organization. More than two years ago, a Catholic priest by the name of Padre Jaime Lares Chairez made the decision to open a Narconon center in his home city of Tijuana, and on October 25th of this year, Read the rest of this entry »

group of peopleHow many lives have you saved over the past ten years? If you’re like most people, the answer to this question would be a very small number, if not zero. Most people going about their day to day lives, no matter how well intentioned they may be, simply do not have the opportunity to save a life unless they are faced with an emergency. If you were to ask this question of a Macedonian man named Borce Mircevksi, however, you would get a different answer. This is because, in April of this year, Mircevksi took the stage at an event to celebrate the tenth anniversary of the day in April of 2004 when he and his team first opened the doors on Narconon Balkan, the first and only Narconon drug rehab center in Macedonia and indeed throughout the Balkan peninsula. Since that date, Mircevksi and his team have been providing the answers available only through the Narconon program to recovering drug addicts from throughout the area, and, countless lives have been salvaged as a result. older coupleIt was 48 years ago now that Narconon was originally founded by a man sitting in a cell of a prison in Arizona. Over the course of nearly half a century, Narconon has expanded to dozens of rehab centers in locations scattered throughout the United States and worldwide. In the beginning, Narconon was developed by a single person, William Benitez, a man who had spent half of his entire life in and out of prison, living as a drug addict and watching his future slip away. Following his release from prison, Mr. Benitez founded the first Narconon center in Los Angeles, and from that point it spread to where it is now. Now, the organization that he founded has helped countless thousands of men and women to recover their own lives and to get a second chance after nearly losing it all to addiction. Recently, a large group of people gathered at Narconon Arrowhead, the flagship Narconon facility located in the small town of Canadian, Oklahoma. The gathering was for a celebration of Narconon’s 48th anniversary, and it was held on the evening of Saturday, March 8th in the facility’s conference hall. Narconon Arrowhead is the leading drug rehab center in the international Narconon network, and it sets the standard in terms of delivery of the rehab program. Read the rest of this entry »

boy reflectingIn August of 2013, a group of people gathered at the Casa del Reencuentro, a drug rehab center which is more commonly known as Narconon Tijuana. Located in the large Mexican city just across the border from San Diego, Narconon Tijuana opened its doors in 2012, and the event in August of last year was held to mark the center’s first anniversary. Narconon International recently released a new video online to commemorate the event and to help celebrate a year of bringing effective solutions for substance abuse and drug addiction to the people of Tijuana. The story begins years ago when Padre Jaime Lares first learned about Narconon’s unique approach to drug addiction treatment. He had already spent years of his life dedicated to helping recovering addicts in Tijuana, and was excited to hear of the methods that Narconon uses for helping people to withdraw from drugs with less pain and discomfort than many other programs. Narconon makes withdrawal and recovery possible for people who couldn’t otherwise quit on their own, and it does so without using drugs, as is so often the case in the field of drug rehab.
