Narconon Mexico Celebrates 10th Anniversary

Mexico news: Narconon Mexico celebrated its 10th Anniversary with an event in Queretaro on March 15th, 2008. Local police and recent graduates were awarded for their completions.

Some thirty of these graduates attended the celebration held at the center. Especially notable was the testimony given by their very first graduate. His drug use had caused him to lose his business and his wife. After completing the Narconon“ program, he went on to create a very successful business, re-married and now has two beautiful children.

In addition to Narconon graduates, family and friends, the attendees included officials such as Doctor Edgardo Piña Mancilla, the Municipal President of Pedro Escobedo, Querétaro. Ms. Concepción Martínez Sánchez, President of the Municipal System's Patronage DIF of Pedro Escobedo, applauded the extensive drug education program carried out by the center.

Marisela was very pleased to award diplomas to 48 members of the police force who recently completed the Drug Prevention Workshop. Commander Gerardo Rodríguez Trejo, Director of Municipal Public Transit and Security, told how pleased he was that now his police force knows how to deal with addicts without using violence.

A very touching moment occurred when a grateful mother gave a public recognition to Narconon Mexico for having saved her son from his addiction. Five years after his graduation, he continues to live a drug-free life.

This colorful event, including a great buffet, live band, and dancing late into the night, was full of joy and good remembrances. Everyone there shared the agreement that the following decades would be even better until the day comes when drug prevention achieves its goal of the end of substance abuse.
