Following is the description of Narconon Florida as listed on the FADAA's website:
"Description: Narconon Florida is a private agency that provides alcohol and substance abuse outpatient detoxification treatment services to individuals in the Tampa Bay area. The Narconon Florida outpatient treatment program uses education as a fundamental component of the rehabilitation process in order for alcohol and other drug abusers to stably recover and live ethical and productive
lives. The Narconon program protocol uses nutrition and nutritional supplements as a important component of its delivery. The program is neither psychiatric nor medical, but a social educational model of rehabilitation. Narconon clients are not considered or treated as "patients" but as "students" who are learning to regain control of their lives. A Narconon student does not enroll to recover from
an "illness." He enrolls to learn something that he doesn't already know. He addresses the "disability" caused by drug use with new abilities, new skills for life. Narconon's program is composed of eight program steps for complete recovery. Outpatient treatment consists of seven life repair courses after withdrawal and detoxification. The entire Narconon program should take 4-6 months to complete in its entirety."
