New Facility
for Narconon Georgia
Narconon Georgia began as a community collaboration that soon grew into an out-patient center in the suburbs of Atlanta.
Recently they expanded into a beautiful new facility where they are now able to service more people than ever before. (Right: Narconon Georgia's new facility)
Additionally, since 2002, Narconon Georgia has embraced the problems of surrounding communities, especially those of literacy and related drug abuse and crime.
Narconon students and staff celebrating their drug free lives at Woodruff Park, Atlanta. Law enforcement officers have found that school truancy directly affects drug abuse and the crime rate. Narconon® staff members have tutored over 800 high risk children, giving them an opportunity to excel in life through education. The hope and opportunity of achieving honest success greatly diminishes the desire to get involved in drugs. Knowing this, Narconon staff in Georgia, like Narconon staff the world over, know the importance of drug prevention activities and are out there doing it!
Following is a heartwarming story from a family member of a Narconon graduate:
"My cousin attended college just out of high school and learned sign language fluently. She was very involved with the deaf and worked as a leasing agent for a prominent apartment community. She was very beautiful and had the whole world in the palm of her hand. But somewhere along the way, she went down a road that lead her to severe unhappiness and addiction.
"Years later I saw my cousin at her mother's funeral (her mother died from drug abuse related problems). Her appearance stopped the room. She was 86 pounds and barely awake. She nodded in and out of consciousness and looked like the walking dead.
"I looked up drug rehabs in the phone book and found Narconon of Georgia. After talking to the intake registrars, I decided that the Narconon drug-free approach was right for my cousin, and she agreed to try the program.
"After a lot of time and work on the part of the staff members, she has been clean for nine months now. She is living in her own apartment and looks like a different girl. I am so proud of her! She worked the program while she was there and continues to use the tools she learned in the program to better her life.
"Thank you so much, Narconon, for saving her life!"
