Narconon Northern California Drug Rehab Saving Lives!

Narconon Northern California drug prevention, education and rehabilitation (rehab) centerNews from Narconon Northern California

Narconon Northern California came into being as a drug prevention center in 1990. A year later, a fellow who had an already licensed rehab found out about the Narconon methodology and decided to change his operation and adopt the Narconon® program.

The current facility with its 34 acres and 8 buildings was purchased in 1998. From anywhere on the property, a person has a magnificent view of the Monterey Peninsula, Monterey and Monterey Bay, the Pacific Ocean, Santa Cruz, and much of the Pacific coast line. Meals are served on a large veranda with this same view. One of the buildings is a log cabin imported from Sweden. The Executive Director's office is a room originally imported from Scotland. The center also has a sister facility further east in Placerville, California.

An article was published about a person who graduated the program a few years ago and is now staff. During the interview, he said, "They saved my life, so I wanted to save someone else's life."

Narconon Northern California drug prevention, education and rehab center -- Friday night graduationGraduation events are held on Friday nights, attended by students, parents and friends. These emotionally charged events feature the wins of weekly graduates of the full Narconon program as well as the wins of students who complete various steps of the program.

They also graduated their first scholarship student, the scholarship itself being sponsored by Narconon Northern California as a community service contribution.

In terms of community involvement, the center did several presentations to different organizations, such as to the Santa Cruz County's Health Services Agency Drug and Alcohol Commission case managers and administrators. The center's medical director also attended and answered scientific questions about the sauna detoxification program. He attested to the wins he has seen from the drug-free withdrawal and sauna programs, as well as the rest of the courses that make up the entire program. He went on to say that he has worked all over the area as an addictionologist and can firmly state that the Narconon program gets superior results.

The center also delivered a presentation to several members of the Community Advisory Board. Some of the members included a local sheriff, a county worker in the drug and alcohol division, and prominent business people. In the presentation they highlighted their first local scholarship graduate and their plans to deliver drug prevention presentations in the area. The members were very receptive and excited about how the center can help the community.
